Hinting at a possible review of the proposal during the finalisation of the Draft policy, Singh said that there will be more clarity on the issue as to the role of the ICPB and ITDC at the final policy document. The role of ICPB and the role of ITDC will be appropriately clarified and addressed at the time of the finalisation of the policy, he said.

The Draft policy had evoked sharp criticism from the MICE industry saying the decision to appoint ITDC, a PSU under the Ministry of Tourism, which has commercial interest in the travel, tourism and MICE business will antagonise the ecosystem.
