Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) and the Hindu religious and charitable endowment (HR&CE) department have announced a circuit tour of famous Amman temples in the state. The tour that will be launched from July 17 will be held on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays in the Tamil month of Aadi.

The one-day circuit tour organised in Chennai, Madurai, Trichy and Thanjavur regions will cover major temples of that region. The tour will start at 8.30am and end at 8.30pm on these days.

In Madurai region, the tour will cover Meenakshi temple, Vandiyur Mariamman temple, Madappuram Kaliamman temple, Thayamangalam Muthumariamman temple, Vettudaiyar Kaliamman temple and Rakkayi Amman temple.

Tourism department flags off special 'Jammu darshan' for Amarnath pilgrims

Pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat and Maharashtra enjoyed the day-long trip and hailed the tourism department for promoting the potential destinations of Jammu and providing them with a great opportunity to visit these places, the spokesperson said. Joint Director of Tourism Jammu, Sunaina Sharma Mehta said the bus service shall help promote local destinations of Akhnoor, Jhiri, Suchetgarh, Purmandal, Mansar and Surinsar.

The TTDC and HR&CE department officials will receive the tourists at these temples and arrange special pujas for them and they will be provided with prasadams in these Amman temples. Interested people can book online through www.ttdconline.com or register in person at the TTDC office at Tamil Nadu Hotel in Alagarkoil Road.
