In a strategic move by Sharjah-based Pier Seven Aviation, a subsidiary of Aerosiva Holdings Ltd,the aviation education opportunities for Indian students have been expanded. The companies, SkyOne FZE and Aerosiva Holding Limited, have acquired Fly Level, a aviation training organisation based in Bucharest, Romania.
The move aims to offer comprehensive training solutions and solidify its position as a global leader in aviation education, an official release stated.
As Pier Seven Aviation primarily caters to Indian students, this acquisition opens up new horizons for aspiring aviation professionals in India. The institute has successfully trained nearly 500 Indian pilots in various courses, gaining approval from India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for its A320 Type Rating training.
“This aligns perfectly with our vision of providing high-quality training and education to aspiring aviation professionals,” commented Jaideep Mirchandani, Founder and Group Chairman of SkyOne FZE.
According to a 2018 IATA study, Sri Lanka’s aviation sector supported 700,000 jobs and contributed USD 8 billion to the GDP. By 2038, these numbers have the potential to grow to over one million jobs and USD 30 billion in GDP. IATA has emphasised the need for government support and industry collaboration to develop the blueprint.
With the exponential growth of air travel in India and the subsequent demand for pilots and crew, the acquisition of Fly Level expands Pier Seven Aviation’s ability to meet the evolving needs of the Indian aviation industry.Pier Seven Aviation’s reputation for excellence in pilot training attracts students like Saptarishi Sen, who completed his Commercial Pilot License (CPL) in the United States and chose Pier Seven for his A320 type training. Sen praised how Pier Seven’s holistic approach allowed him to focus solely on enhancing his technical skills and gaining a deeper understanding of the aviation industry.
Mirchandani, who is a UAE-based aviation pioneer, emphasised the importance of tailored and flexible training solutions, mentioning the facility’s innovative simulation technology and experienced instructors.
Pier Seven Aviation has state-of-the-art simulators, including A320 FFS, B737 FFS, B747-400 FFS, and A320 FTD, all approved by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and other international civil aviation authorities.
