In an administrative reshuffle, the General Administration Department of Chhattisgarh issued orders for the transfer of 14 IAS officers today, bringing about a change in key positions within the state administration. One notable appointment is that of Jitendra Kumar Shukla, a seasoned officer of the 2011 Chhattisgarh cadre of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), who has been assigned the role of Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board.
Shukla’s appointment comes as the department bids farewell to Anil Kumar Sahu, who had diligently served as the Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Tourism until this moment. Sahu, an experienced IFS officer from the 1990 batch, leaves behind a legacy of dedication during his tenure.
As Shukla takes over the reins of Chhattisgarh Tourism, he brings with him a wealth of administrative experience and notable achievements. Prior to assuming this new role, Shukla had served as the collector of Janjgir-Champa district, where he displayed exemplary leadership and management skills.As per official sources, one of the highlights of his career was his remarkable handling of a massive rescue operation during his tenure as the district collector. He earned widespread appreciation for his efforts in successfully rescuing a young boy named Rahul from a perilous situation.
Besides being appointed as the Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Tourism, Shukla has also been entrusted with an additional crucial responsibility as the Director of the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Department.
As Shukla takes official charge today, the tourism department eagerly anticipates the implementation of innovative strategies to boost tourism in the state and to promote Chhattisgarh as an attractive destination for travellers and tourists alike.
