Maharashtra government’s directorate of tourism will organise a day’s tour to the places under the Ramayan Circuit on August 12 to make tourists acquainted with places part of it.
Ramayana Circuit is one of the fifteen thematic circuits identified for development under the Swadesh Darshan scheme of tourism ministry. This is the first time that the directorate of tourism has organized such a tour to “Ramayan Circuit” in accordance with the government’s instructions.
Addressing the media, state tourism deputy director Madhumita Sardesai said, “We have planned six private buses with a total 300 tourists. Each tourist will be charged Rs 100 .”
Under the Ramayan Circuit, the tour has been organized to places like Anjaneri, Kawnai, Taked, Tapovan, Kalaram temple, Sitagumpha and Ramkud. The tour will begin at 7.30am from the city and will conclude by evening at Ramkund Those tourists, who want to participate in a tour to the places under Ram Circuit in the city, will have to make a registration. A drawing competition was also been organized the next day for students from 1st to 10std in four groups. Moreover, another festival was organized at Bhandardara site between August 12 and 16. Sardesai said the tour at places under Ramayan Circuit has been organized to make people aware of the places in the city and also boost tourism.
