Rishikesh Trust To Develop Triveni Pushp As Tourism Hub, ET TravelWorld News, ET TravelWorld

Along with different development projects to beautify and revamp facilities in the Sangam city before the Maha Kumbh, the Triveni Pushp , located at Arail side of Yamuna river in Uttar Pradesh too is set to get revamped and become a major tourist attraction.

The site has been given on lease to Swami Shukdevanand Trust Parmarth Niketan, an organisation of Rishikesh to develop it as a tourist destination. The organisation will look after this tourist site for 30 years. Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) has given it on lease for 30 years to the president of the organisation, Swami Chidanand Saraswati. This institution will give INR 81 lakh per year to the PDA and the lease will be extended for 10 years for better development of Triveni Pushp.

This site is spread across 16 bighas in Arail of Naini. In Kumbh 2019, PDA wanted to develop it as a tourist destination but no work was done in that direction and now it has given it on lease. The tender was floated in July.

The department plans to create a strong road network to link the tourist town with the nearby districts to boost economic activity via tourism circuits. As of now it has finalised 84 kosi parikrama path, Ram Janaki Marg, Ram Van Gaman Path, Buddhist circuit, Braj circuit, Bundelkhand circuit and handicraft circuit for the uplift.

Swamishukdevanand Trust, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s organisation Vyakti Vikas Kendra and Prayagraj’s organisation Lallu Ji & Sons were the bidders. Swami Shukdevanand Trust made the highest bid of INR 81 lakh per year to take Triveni Pushp on lease. Vyakti Vikas Kendra had proposed INR 63 lakh and Lallu Ji & Sons INR 36.53 lakh per year.Before Maha Kumbh, hotels, restaurants, hospitals and symbolic representation of ancient temples will come up at Triveni Pushp. “The Swami Shukdevanand trust is being headed by its chairman, Swami Chidanand Saraswati. Soon, formalities will be completed and the land will be given to the institution. This decision will help increase the revenue of PDA and at the same time give a new lease of life to this important site,” said vice chairman of PDA, Arvind Kumar Chauhan.
