Thailand renews ties with VFS Global for visa processing across India with expansion in Tier-II cities, ET TravelWorld

In a testament to their enduring collaboration, the Royal Thai government has extended its contract with VFS Global, the world’s leading outsourcing and technology services specialist for governments and diplomatic missions worldwide, to handle visa applications for Thailand from India.

Under this renewed contract, VFS Global will continue to serve Indian travellers across various visa categories through visa application centres and drop-off facilities aligned with the jurisdiction of the Royal Thai Embassy in Delhi and the Royal Thai Consulate General in Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai.

The partnership between VFS Global and the Government of Thailand spans nearly two decades, with the company having processed over 2.2 million Thai visa applications since 2005. VFS Global works with 70 client governments, with more than 3,300 application centres in 147 countries.

As part of the agreement, VFS Global will introduce drop-box services in 22 tier-2 cities, enhancing accessibility for travellers. These cities include Ranchi, Aurangabad, Bhopal, Indore, Nagpur, Nasik, Coimbatore, Mangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayawada, Agra, Amritsar, Dehradun, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Guwahati, Patna, Bihar, Bhubaneswar, Jamshedpur, Siliguri, and Visakhapatnam.

Additionally, the latest visa application center (VAC) in Lucknow, previously functioning as a drop-box facility, will now accept applications for Thailand visas.
