Akasa Air adds Port Blair to its network with daily flights from Bengaluru & Chennai, ET TravelWorld

Akasa Air has added Port Blair to its network and started selling daily flights connecting Port Blair to Bengaluru and Chennai. Starting December 15, 2023, the first flight, number QP 1485, departs from Bengaluru at 06:00 and arrives at Chennai at 07:05. The second flight, number QP 1486, departs from Port Blair at 10:35 and arrives at Chennai at 13:00. The third flight, also number QP 1486, departs from Chennai at 13:35 and arrives at Bengaluru at 14:50. Like the other two flights, it operates daily and is a through service.

The tropical island of Port Blair is a popular tourist destination and Akasa Air’s foray into the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a testament to the airline’s commitment to strengthen its operations across the country, allowing travellers more options to connect between cities and fly to an increasing number of destinations. The airline will operate daily through flights between Bengaluru and Port Blair via Chennai, enhancing connectivity between the tourist hub and two major metros.

Port Blair offers breathtaking natural beauty and is an attractive tourist destination with strong air travel demand.”

Since its launch in August 2022, Akasa Air has served over 5.9 million passengers. It connects with 16 cities across India, namely Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Guwahati, Agartala, Pune, Lucknow, Goa, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, and Kolkata.

The airline is also offering an introductory sale of 10 per cent off for bookings made on Akasa Air’s website and mobile app.

The initiative mirrors the national tourism strategy aimed at attracting an impressive 100 million annual tourists and welcoming 300 million travelers by 2030. Additionally, it underscores Flynas’ commitment to linking the Kingdom with a network of 250 international destinations. The low cost carrier also announced the addition of a new direct route between Jeddah and Bahrain, with two weekly flights starting next December 7.
