The Noida International Airport has entered a strategic collaboration with Akasa Air, to support each other in their growth journeys. Akasa Air will base aircraft at the airport to operate domestic and international flights from Noida International Airport, to support the growing air travel demand in the region.

This partnership is poised to address the escalating air travel demand in the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) and Western Uttar Pradesh.

Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Noida International Airport, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasising the airport’s dedication to strengthening air connectivity in the region. He highlighted the goal of establishing a comprehensive air network, connecting major metros, Tier 2, and Tier 3 cities across the country.

Vinay Dube, Founder and CEO of Akasa Air, commended Noida International Airport for exemplifying the government’s focus on aviation infrastructure development. He underscored Akasa Air’s commitment to building a holistic network that spans the nation, emphasizing the synergy with the airport to fortify connectivity to and from Uttar Pradesh.

Akasa Air secures historic order for 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft at Wings India 2024

This marks a historic achievement, as Akasa Air becomes the first Indian airline to reach an order book exceeding 200 aircraft within just 17 months of commencing operations. The order, consisting of 737 MAX 10 and 737 MAX 8-200 jets, is a testament to the airline’s robust financial foundation and the confidence Boeing places in Akasa Air’s future.

The first phase of Noida International Airport, equipped with one runway and one terminal, is geared to handle an annual passenger traffic of 12 million. Upon the completion of the fourth phase, the airport’s capacity is projected to reach 70 million passengers per year.Dube expressed confidence that the collaboration would strengthen connectivity to and from Uttar Pradesh, offering a seamless travel experience for passengers across the country. The partnership aligns with the collective goal of making air travel accessible to a broader segment of the Indian population.
